Store & Go Zipper Case

This is one of the patterns I did for Indygo Junction that debuted at the Spring Market in Philadelphia.  At first, IJ was skeptical about the pattern because it is made using a circular attachment foot on the sewing machine, both for the decoratively stitched circles and for inserting the zipper.  It actually is a very fun and clever (if I do say so myself) way of making a pouch.  I originally sent the pattern and models to them calling it Moon Zipper Pouch.  I loved the way it went from a "full moon" when open to a "half moon" when closed.  I guess the powers that be thought the name was a bit odd...thus, Store & Go Zipper Case.  They did a nice blog write-up on it here.  Lots of positive comments on the case, but that could have been due to the give-away they were offering.  The cases are shown set up as a sewing kit case and a travel jewelry case.  Other uses can be created, of course.  I hope the pattern does well, but in the end, I create stuff because it is fun.  And making circles with decorative stitches is right up there on the fun scale with fruity drinks on the porch.  Well, maybe not quite as much fun as fruity drinks on the porch.  Jerilynn

Gorgeous Purse!!

Wowie kozowie. Dian S. at Indygo Junction made my Permission Purse using machine embroidered circles on the squares rather than using machine stitches. Absolutely gorgeous!! She used the Artistic Quilt Blocks designs by Ace Point Designs. You can find them on the Oregon Patchworks website here. There are several Artistic Quilt Blocks collections, and I thought the Collection 3 looked pretty fun. The thing about downloading embroidery designs...pretty instant gratification! Plus, they were on sale...such a deal. I sewed just one block out so far, and my color choices turned out to be not the best, but I think I love these! I might play around with the kaleidoscope feature on my Bernina V6 software to see if I can make some of my own designs. Seriously, I love the purse that Dian made! Jerilynn

Salt Lake City Quilt Market!!

I am not attending the Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City, but I am going to be there, in a way. My patterns are printed!!! If you look reaaalllly closely at the bottom right of each pattern you will see my name! It has been a bit of a long road, but the models are made, the patterns are printed, and they are for sale starting tomorrow! I probably won't get any feedback for a couple of weeks, but I am crossing my fingers that these aren't the worst patterns at the show. I have already started thinking of some ideas for Fall Market patterns. So far nothing too great has popped into mind. Maybe one of these patterns will be good and I can build on that concept. How many dozen do you want to order???? Jerilynn

Button, Button, Who's Got the Button?

There is a great book out there, Button{Ware} by Amy Barickman of Indygo Junction. It has lots of fun projects to make out of buttons - jewelry and clothes. I got inspired, dug through my button collection, bought a bracelet blank, and glued on buttons. I think it turned out pretty cute. It was my first try, I think I can do better next time. Most of the day today I had another Folk Art Clothesline Bag class. I forgot my camera (duh!) but they turned out pretty good. It is so fun to teach that class - people just love it and have so much fun and success and can't wait to make another. Plus, I get paid! Double good. Jerilynn
