Modern America and American Made Brand Fabric

Here are some photos of the Modern America quilt I promised you yesterday.  You can see by the picture of the finished quilt, the  horrible metallic stars are just an awful memory.  The quilt is quilted, bound, labeled, and in the mail to the Stitchin' Post for their Sisters Quilt Show.  Not sure where it goes from there, but I bet if it could talk, it would have some good stories to tell.  On to the next squeaky wheel project.  I have a long list of things that I would like to sit down and do, but those darn projects that are due/past due just keep crowding up my mind.  Maybe for each 4 hours of "work" I could allow myself one hour of "play".  Although, being retired, living at this gorgeous lake, and having a bright and airy place to create...the "work" really isn't too tough to do.  Jerilynn

  1. OMG - this is super fantastic!! The AMB fabric colors are great, and of course you thought to put Wisconsin in RED! Safe travels, Modern America quilt. If you ever need a home, I will find a place of honor for you at my house. First dibs (after Jerilyn's kids and grandkids decided they have too many of her fabulous quilts)! P.S. How can you be so prolific? I have made 6 "hot dog method" pillowcases and hemmed a new shower curtain in the past day and a half and I feel like I accomplished a lot.

  4. Get ready for the longest comment you've ever had, because I just couldn't help looking up the lyrics to the song I imagine this quilt is singing on it's travels starting right in it's box, in the hold of a jet somewhere over America.

    I've been everywhere, man
    I've been everywhere, man
    Across the deserts bare, man

    1. Wow, that ISthe longest comment ever! I had to listen to this song on YouTube, and agree that it is the theme song for this little quilt! How fun. Too bad these traveling shows font have a system for adding comments or a tracking sheet. Thanks for taking the time to send this to me.❤️

  5. I too am glad you are back. I enjoy seeing your creations. Also, have been following the AMB blogs. Love the USA embroidery. Is it a pattern?

  6. The USA embroidery on the quilt label is a machine embroidery I digitized based on the Modern a America state outlines. Do you have a embroidery machine?

  8. HI, I bought this pattern from Fabric Depot in Portland Or. After I got home in Wisconsin, I tried to go the site to download the pattern. I wasn't able to find the site. When I typed the addy in nothing shows. I really want to make this as my hubby to some traveling, I would like to mark where we have been on our travels.
    Thank-you

    1. Hi, Sherrie! I just got some of the Modern America patterns from Indygo Junction, and I went to the address and the pattern was there. Somewhat of a complicated address! Just make sure you type in IJ (inititals for Indygo Junction) with the 981. That is the only spot where I can see there might be some confusion. If you still have trouble, call Indygo Junction (number should be on their website) for help. They will need to know that you are having difficulties with the download they set up. Thank you so much for buying the pattern! Contact me at jerisew@aol.com if you have questions. For the technical stuff, though, IJ should be the company you ask. (passing the buck!)
